During the training course, the participants are provided latest information on global overview of SHP, modern techniques for investigations & assessment, country policies for SHP, modern trends in rural electrification, design of civil structures, new technologies, cost effective electro-mechanical equipments, SHP for carbon trading under CDM, case studies, social and cultural excursions. There are only 15 seats in this course.
There is no course fee and the expenditure on course material, technical visits, boarding & lodging (on twin sharing basis), visit to sites, local travel from Delhi airport to Roorkee and return during the course is sponsored by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Govt. of India (GoI). The participants through their organisation are to bear/arrange the international travel expenses from their home country to Delhi International Airport and back and personal expenses.
In India, the MNRE has accorded priority for the development of SHP and other sources of renewable energy. This development is open for private sector also. It has taken several policy initiatives supported with fiscal incentives.

Target Participants:
The course has been designed for the participants having Engineering / Scientific background involved in SHP Development. The participants may be from govt. departments, academic institutions, private developers, manufacturers and NGO, etc., who are contributing or intend to contribute to SHP Development.
Venue:
The course will be held at the AHEC, IIT Roorkee, Uttranchal. Roorkee is 180 km north of Delhi.
