Nomination under SFS 2009-10 application for MBBS, BDS, BE & Pharmacy are out

The application forms for the "Nomination of Self-financing Foreign Students (SFS) against reserved seats in Institutions in India in MBBS / BDS / BE / Pharmacy courses" for the academic year 2009-10 are out. The form can be downloaded from the Education Section's webpage at the High Commission of India's Website (www.indianhighcommission.com.my), or got in person from the Education Section at the High Commission of India, Kuala Lumpur. The last date to apply for the Nomination under SFS scheme is 31 March 2009. This scheme is open only for a few selected government colleges in India. Normally two slots are offered for each course for Malaysia. Usually about 25 to 30 people apply for MBBS, and 2 to 3 for BE. No one applies for BDS and Pharmacy. So those wishing to apply, please do so at the earliest.

Eligibility Qualification: Either STPM, A Levels, South Australian Matriculation (SAM), or the Canadian Pre-University (CPU).

Compulsory subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology for MBBS / BDS / Pharmacy. For BE applicants should have taken Maths in place of Biology.

Cut off marks: those with 60% and above in each of the above mentioned subjects at the qualifying level are eligible to apply. Even if you get 58 or 59 your application will be rejected.

Results out in: end of September. It is generally late intake, since colleges in India start in July-August.
